When it comes to kids’ shoes, it’s not just about style—comfort, support, and durability are equally important. Here are some tips that I find helpful while finding shoes for my kids:
Opt for breathable materials like canvas or mesh for everyday shoes, which help keep little feet cool. For durability, leather is be a great choice and will ensure their shoes last.
Take your time and shop around to find styles that you love on sale. Kids grow out of shoes fast, but you can definitely find high-quality shoes at a decent price point.
Let your children have a say in the shoe selection process. I’ll usually show my kids a few different options and let them pick their favorites, and as a result they are more excited about wearing the shoes. Win, win!
Focus on neutral colors so that the shoes can be paired with more items in their wardrobe. I tend to stick with whites and creams for the majority of my kids’ shoes, plus some brown and blue options for Ralph and pink and purple options for Vivienne.
